Your health esp when you face cancer !

I never in a million years thought smoking really effected my health until I had massive whipples surgery on the 05/09/18 icu 7 days tackycardia heart , fighting off pneumonia with smokers lungs was the hardest thing I’ve ever done ! Esp when you can barley move ! 64 staples ! Think of the future what if you need majour surgery and your lungs can’t fight off pneumonia? It’s a massive part of why people die after surgery or keeps you in hospital a lot longer . I am only 32 as well . Sure scared me stupid! Haven’t and won’t touch one again .

Wow -- I hear ya.
Mine was entering emergency on August 25 then again on September 11 2018.
I'll spare the details, but some sort of virus hit.
My immune system overreacted incredibly and every organ went crazy. All blood tests off the map. Also heart problems!
(After 1 month in hospital they have NO IDEA what it is!)
I digress...
Haven't smoked since September 8.
My worry: I didn't really want to quit. I mean in the way that one prepares oneself and does it. Did I know I should quit? Of course!
I must say, that because of all the extra problems in the hospital I didn't have time to think or pine on it, and pangs were rare. I am doing much better quoting than I had imagined.
So, my worry: after all is done and I am better again, I may creep back (slither!) and slip back into my old ways, until I "am ready"...

I am 51 days smoke free today but have been experiencing chest pain with a cough. Somewhat frustrated!
