Staying quit

Hi all
I quit smoking August 8 2017. I haven’t lit up once in over a year now i’m So happy to have made it this far so far. I can say in all that i’ve Been through I don’t miss it today at all.Now my mind is another thing I’ll be some where doing something and bam I think I want a smoke happens at home no one smokes here anymore by the way, happens in my car very random but that feeling doesn’t last long and I still do anything to get my mind of it. Anyway I’m proud of me and proud of anyone trying to quit it ,does get better and easier a year ago I wouldn’t of believed it either. Stick with it. I smoked 30 years and do not today can’t stand the smell it’s gross. Thanks for listening enjoy your quit journey.

Congratulations KDKeys!
4 months quit and I sometimes do think of lighting one up but then I tell myself that even only one cigarette WILL Hurt.
All the best on your journey being a non- smoker.

Well done on one year! I too smoked for 30 years, and today marks 8 weeks of being a non smoker. It isn't easy, and to hear you say that you have those moments of thinking about having one but not doing it is so real. Yesterday I think i had a couple of moments where i really wanted one, but it does go away! Thx for sharing your story, 1 year is amazing. 😊

Hi JDKeys
Congratulations one year what a great achievement
Today I am 897 days smoke free and sometimes i think I'd like one but it is mostly just a thought that floats through.
I don't think it ever really goes away, my brother stopped smoking after having a heart attack, but started again after 2 years he thought he would just have one but I don't believe we can ever just have one.
We must remember that we are addicts and like any addiction there is one such thing as just one.
It does definitely get easier, but we must always stay alert
Again good job on your 1 year
