9 days smoke free

Posted in Staying quit
schedule 10 Jun 2018

I'm now 9 days smoke free. i quit cold turkey; no nicotine patches no vape nothing. i wasn't a heavy smoker before. I used to smoke like half a pack a day sometimes a bit more. But I've tried so many times to quit before and everytime i end up failing after a couple of days. I've always hated smoking ! And i never thought i would be addicted to it. I started smoking at the age of 17 (I'm 23 now) but i was just kinda trying it with my friends. but the last 4 years it became a daily habit and before i know it i was hooked. Thank God now i found the strength and the motivation to quit. And one of the main reasons that made me quit is money. Not my health but money. I'm still a student so I'm kinda on a budget and i noticed that all of my money is being spent on cigarettes especially that I'm used to the expensive ones. It made me frustrated and i hated it smoking for that. Now I'm saving the money that i used to spend on cigarettes to reward myself later with something I'm gonna buy with that money. I hope everyone finds that one thing thay will motivate him/her to quit smoking. Good luck to you guys !

Yes money can be a real reason to quit mind you alot of poor people still smoke anyway. Health can come into it but not for everyone probably the real expensive and luxury cigarettes for me would be the Benson and Hedges brand I like to smoke Escort's but they are pretty expensive also Good to hear you quit cold turkey that shows some real willpower it's something i couldn't do. I'm on Day 11 and in the past i found vaping really helped you do get some nasty other chemicals other than nicotine in the vapes but still better than smoking a cigarette, healthier at least. Trouble with vaping (e cigarettes) is they break easily since stopping vaping i moved onto the Nicorette Inhaler which gives you only some nicotine better than none at all. I wish i could quit cold turkey but i've tried it no luck

I've been a smoker for only 4 years or so and that's why i think it wasn't that hard for me to quit cold turkey.
