My Journey

Posted in Staying quit
schedule 13 Oct 2017

Today is a milestone for me 1 month since I had my last smoke I never thought it would have been possible a couple of months ago but here I am, I went and saw my counselor yesterday, she's an ex-smoker to 9.5 years for her and she was very pleased that I've managed to stick with my program and I told her how I've been keeping myself on the go and what I've achieved, I've put on some weight my skins cleared up a lot and my lungs have returned to normal, I had another go on the Carbon Monoxide Meter and I've gone from 50 on my first go down to 7 in 4 weeks, and I can breathe a lot better now my sense of taste and smell has returned to normal. I feel Great, I've already saved over $500 and I Brought a laptop for myself and gave my Tablet away, Its so much easier to type on a keyboard and surf the web. I spend a lot of time on the Internet surfing between QSN, here at I Can Quit and I've even given Birth to my own website on Facebook to try and reach out and help others trying to kick the Habit and keep myself on track, things are really starting to fall into place for me, It hasn't been easy in fact I never want to go back down that track again, so I'm going to keep on doing what I've been doing, my Goal for this month is to get off the patches and then finally the Mist Spray. This has been one of the best things I've ever done for me besides getting off the Booze and Drugs I feel like I've finally found a reason to appreciate my life, for now, I'm doing something really worthwhile, Helping others to help myself one day at a time. I still have a long way to go at least, for now, I know which way Im headed

I know I get a bit long-winded but I'm pretty stoked with myself and I like to share how I'm feeling good or bad and if it weren't for all you guys encouraging me I don't know what I would do with all that spare time on my hands, lol. Hi Ronryan. Don't worry about being "long winded"! Anyone reading someone else's post will often have a lightbulb moment where they may read someone's thoughts only to recognize them in their own quest to succeed. In the beginning the first few minutes, hours and days are the scariest moments because what might we feel if we had to take a backwards step and relive the agony. Long winded responses by those who post are what has given me the opportunity to reach 860 something days smoke free, not to mention $18600 + in the overs tray.

Hi Ron. Great to read your post and the excitement of finally being able to quit the stinking habit. I am sure you will survive the early days of quitting and will remember the massive effort to get where you are. The cravings do eventually dissipate and for me became no more than the odd thought which was easy to deal with. Stick with us and keep posting

I love a good story, personally

I love good stories too. It's been a year since you posted one, although i see you still pop in to support others. I think the Facebook website is an excellent idea. I post on it about iCanQuit so i hope others may take a look, and find the hope they have of becoming a non-smoker. I may try to do the same, as i too am long-winded. :)
