A whole 24 hours!

schedule 24 Oct 2017

Hi everyone :-) it has been a whole 24 hours since I have quit smoking :-) I know it's only one day but every day counts I reckon! Today was abit hard for me as I have not only decided to quit smoking but have also decided to quit my other addictive habit that I have had for the past 3 years (I drink around 2 - 4 redbulls daily!! 😔😔😔) yes this is extremely bad I have heard it all b4 lol but an addiction is an addiction so I'm trying to smash out both at the same time! :-)

Today I had a few headaches through out the day and must admit that I thought about smoking 95% of the time.. I also had a couple of moments when my brain would think (oh who cares just smoke, u know u like It!) Then about 10 mins later I would feel really proud of myself that i didn't have one, so everytime my brain tells me to have one I try to remember that if I don't have one then that feeling will pass and I will feel proud of myself again :-) I hope all u first day quitters are feeling proud of urselves aswell :-) stay strong we can do this! Tomoro is my pay day and I'm looking forward to having an extra $150 each week :-)

Kingkelz, excellent. If you pass the 24 hours you are now unstoppable. Just keep good note of the triggers and your life style, the habits you used to smoke. Replace them with something else. Tell yourself you are smarter than that killer stick, that false friend. All it promise to give us is false, it will desert us one day sooner or later in a hospital bed, where we will pay for the oxygen the doctors give. I am now on my seventh day, it was only hard the first day. Ice cube, lollipops were my calming methods when the urge drives me crazy at the beginning. This might help. I also use QuitNow! free application on my phone, which helps a lot as I can see my progress every now and then.

Hello KingKelz, I am not from Australia, I am from Lithuania, so sorry for my English :) I was checking this site because today I am going to quit smoking. (At least I will try). I found your post and decided to write because I have the same addictions. Smoking and energy drinks. Before now I stopped smoking and drink energy drinks for several times, but now I slipped and came back to the same position like before. And I know that all cravings passes. If you want to talk with me about everything, I could tell my story and we can to go through this together. Because I need someone with the same addictions too.

Gday KingKelz, Good on you for having a go I know it's not easy battling poly addictions mine was Cigarettes Coffee and Cannabis, I only Drink the Coffee Today and since I stopped smoking a couple of months ago I had to limit the coffee to a minimal 4 cups a day before I was Drinking 8-12 cups a day Smoking 30-40 cigarettes and god knows how much weed ridiculous, Today I find better things to do with my money and I didn't realize how many things I was missing out on untill I give it up when I finally got sick and nearly ended up in Hospital. I've battled Addiction since I was a teen Alcohol and Hard Drugs I put that to bed 23yrs ago and Settled for

"The Lesser Evils The 3 C's" But that too came at a price getting locked up and put in rehab again, the only thing I got out of it was a lot of knowledge about addictions, stimulants are all the same they lead to addiction if you let them and are hard to beat I know a bloke who was addicted to Vegemite couldn't live without it like a heroin addict and when he got it he would eat it smoke it shoot it and then go on a crime wave for which he claimed was the ultimate rush. I have heard a lot of things about people on Red Bull to Its full of Caffeine as you know and I've heard of people that cant even go to work unless they get there Caffeine fix to get them going in the morning, I myself wouldn't go to work unless I had a Pack of Smokes to keep me going I would stress out and have all sorts of problems with employers workmates and such it cost me many good jobs and future prospects. I hope you had a better handle on it than me it nearly cost me my life, be smart and take full advantage of this Site and don't suffer anymore you got this Girl just take it one day at a time and you will get thru this there are a lot of good people here from all walks of life you just met one. If there's anything you would like to know about just look me up and comment on one of my stories and I will get back to you soon or find someone you can relate to like April and do the same, we're all here to help each other and we only have good intentions and want the best for you on your journey. Best of luk Ron...
