12 months!

I have been absent for sometime from this site, apologies for that, I have been dealing with some very stressful issues.
It is 12 months today since I quit smoking and it really has flown, it was one heck of a wild ride of emotions. I am so grateful to everyone on this site for their support, this platform was integral to my staying quit & staying sane! Thank you! from the bottom of my heart - thank you to all of you who were on the wacky adventure with me.
For newbies, stay strong, all the frustration, anger, sadness etc does pass. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
I will be back on this site more regularly to try and help those struggling and give back what advice and help I can.
In the meantime I am going to celebrate this milestone...
Cheers!

Hi Cranky76. Congratulations and welcome back. A huge milestone. Strange how the turning point can be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Then achieving the next milestone is more likely to become a reality because there is no way one would like to go back to square one...

Hi Cranky, been a while. Huge congratulations on your first year. Amazing how one year flies and now as we enter our 2nd yr it gives us more confidence as we know what is around and possibly what to expect at every corner. Urges i find at this point of time very minimal but the darn habit sometimes still embarraces me.....hand reaching into pocket whilst conversing with others or having a coffee. In time this will disappear. Good luck and keep posting. Cheers.

Hei Cranky- So welcome back.. Been absent for a while as well, but as you- still going strong without smoking... I mean, I still have this few moments of urge, but compared to how it was, I feel great... almost 9 month now!!!

Thanks everyone, it was so good to hear from you all, it felt like a family reunion! You are all going great guns - what an amazing bunch of quitter we are. I'm proud of you all.
Congrats on a year!! I cant wait to hit that milestone and really say that I achieved something like that without having it forcibly taken from me! I did this for me! You inspire me and are just where I want to be. Keep up the good work!

Wow, what an achievement. I decided yesterday to quit, I am going cold turkey. I am managing throughout the day whilst in work, but when I go how my partner smokes and I am very tempted to have just one.
Any tips for going cold turkey?

Congratulations! That's a great achievement!
People that are just starting like myself would love your advice considering you've been through it all!
Try not to be too much of a stranger!
