Hey all,

Lia suggested to have a quit buddy and what a great idea that was and is!!

My quit buddy Mike and I have just reached our two month smoke free mark.

It's a very inspirational thing to do because you can help each other to remain smoke free.

I'm proud of myself for getting this far and I'm so happy to have reached another milestone.

Huge congratulations to my quit buddy Mike also because we quit the same time.

It's so so worth it!!!

Hi Kim 26. So glad my suggestion worked for you. This quitting business is not easy but a virtual friend that cheers us on is a bonus. Strange how a fellow quitter is so valuable in the quest to stay smoke free. There is no pressure, just a huge motivating force to keep one on the straight and narrow. I like the fact you mention the huge pride you feel as you reach any milestone. There are initially small ones and then the bigger ones. All the more reason to keep going. 707 days quit cold turkey by me. Can be done! If I can, so can you...

Hey there QB Kim,

You got the jump start on the post, this 15 hours ahead of me thing is really starting to get on my nerves! Lol. Congrats Quit buddy, we can do this, 2 Months is an accomplishment and you are doing so well. Got to say I almost screwed up and found myself in line at a local convenient store, and a women said to me "go ahead you were waiting longer". I told her, "no that's OK you go right ahead", "I'm debating on whether or not to buy a pack being that I've been almost 2 months quit". She said, "don't do it prices keep increasing, I'm telling you don't do it". I said, "price isn't really a factor here it's health more than anything". I told her what you Aussies are paying and her eye bugged out and she said, "your kidding". Then about at that point the girl that worked there behind the counter said "really don't do it, I'm offering free high fives", and she put up her hand. Then we slapped hands and I walked straight out the exit door, heard on my way out "good luck", then went and washed my truck....:) I'm not too good at telling stories, but that's exactly what happened Sunday afternoon. I am so glad I didn't relapse. I will not do that again.

And yes, a quick thanks to Lia for the suggestion. Oh and spyder yes it does help having a quit buddy.

Take Care and sleep well,

Your QB,

Mike

Thanks Lia, yes it is amazing how much having that added motivation from your quit buddy helps. You're right, it's not about pressure because that tatic doesn't work as you said, it's hard enough as is but can be done and you've nailed it

Woohoo my QB Mike!!!

I laughed so hard when you said about the time difference!! Hey, we've got this so I'll leave the 3 month QB post for you to do 😃.

I enjoyed your story and you explained it really well. I could almost picture it. How cool is that to have two people get you over the line. Loved reading that. Oh yeah, I've zapped myself to be tiny enough for you to carry me around on your shoulder always so that you'll also be able to hear, "Hey my quit buddy, don't give in because even though I'm little, the Tiger in me will let loose" haha. Tiger as in my footy team, am sure you get my drift lol.

I'm super duper proud of you Mike because you're doing such a wonderful job at staying smoke free but also having my back to.

You're a winner!!

Your QB Kim

Thanks Kim you are too cool and I couldn't ask for a better QB.

But I will do month 3, I'll just do it a day early in case you forget you gave it to me. I'll have to mark that on the calendar so I don't forget.

Later Tiger,

Mike
