Continuing the quit journey

I have now made it over five weeks, and it has definitely been a struggle at times. Sometimes when I feel it's becoming difficult, I will get on here and read some of others journeys. It keeps things in perspective just looking at others in different stages of their quit journey. My big motivation is my health and my son. Good luck to everyone and thank you to you all. All the posts have helped me personally in starting and staying quit.

Congratulations. You are doing so awesome. For myself between weeks 5 and 6 my withdrawal symptoms reduced by 1/2. So it should get better from here on out. My biggest reason for quitting too...... is who I'm holding in that picture in the upper left. :)

Thank you for the encouragement! How old is your son? Mine will be 4 in July. I just never want him to pick up a cigarette and I want to make sure my health is as good as it can be. That way I can hopefully experience as much as possible with him.

Hi Brandy...
Good on you,5 weeks is a real achievement and reading these post are important to keep you going.
I am 13 months off cigs now and my quitting was due to bad health due to C.O.P.D . I am 63yrs old and I left it too long but you have so much in front of you with your 4yr old,so much to enjoy.
Keep up the good work and all the best for the future

My boy will be 3 in November. He was born on Thanksgiving. That picture of him was when he just turned 1. So he has hair now and is feisty as ever. From what you are writing you are definitely a good mom. Your boy is so lucky to have you as his mommy. Thinking of your kids before yourself is one of the best traits a caring parent can have and I can tell you love him dearly. You are definitely headed in the right direction, so keep up the awesome work.

Thanks! I really appreciate all the kind words. I definitely started to feel cigarettes affecting my health. Lia, I commend you for quitting after so long. It's never too late to quit! Thanks Kim! Mike, he definitely is my Partner in everything! He tells everyone that we're best friends, I can only hope he still feels this way in a few years ;) your son is adorable and I'm sure a lot of your journey has been influenced by him as well, making you a very uncaring parent as well!

That's OK. No biggy. I know how autocorrect can be. Yes he has been my biggest influence and love him dearly as well. Your son is a little cutey as well. I like your new picture with him. Keep up the good work and we are all in the same boat. Everyone sticks together here and if you need me just say so. We stick together here.

Thank you!! The same here. It's extremely helpful knowing there is such a good supportive group available!

Des, I guess I'm reading different posts and then comments off of my own too quick and getting names mixed up. I was talking about you quoting in my earlier comment! I must have read Lia prior to the comments on my post. Thank you for your kind words as well.
