Why did you decide to quit?

I really hope its ok to ask here, but since I know what a great support this site can be I thought I'd turn to it again after relying on it once before.
Me: I am now 1107 days quite, yep just over 3 years and i still celebrate every day. I smoked for 18year, 25 a day before realising I had already smoked more than half my life so it had to stop now or I wouldn't have the chance to change that. My app also tells me that create news that I have saved $21599 so far, which has literally bought me a new car, and an awesome one at that. I also ran my first (maybe only) marathon last year. Please hang in there, I am living proof of how awesome it can be living smoke free. But I have a favour to ask if I may? I am now a Uni student studying to be a nurse and I need some stats, just one word will do, Why did you decide to quit? I would really appreciate your reply. Thank you very much amazing people

Well done to you! Seeing the $$$ saved is mind-boggling - great incentive there alone!
Me? Psoriasis. Had it all my life and no treatment has worked. No dermatologist has ever made the link, for me, to smoking but I saw something recently which indicated that the psoriasis would be worse and treatments less effective. Sounds bizarre as i know the major health stuff smoking does but I just want to get rid of my "ugly elbows" and having to wear long sleeves in hot weather. The trigger i needed to finally give up!

Financial and health reasons. That amount of money saved really is mind boggling!
Well done mate . I've been 4years now after 37 years . Best thing you ever do

I really think....before asking ourselves why we quit....we should really be asking ourselves "what led us to start smoking?". Hope you can make sense from this and use as a guide to quitting. Cheers.

I simply got sick of handing over $196 every 8 to 10 days for a carton of cigarettes. Also felt I may have been developing emphysema as I had difficulty breathing during the night. Now the $ amount has risen to $235... 640 days smoke free...
