Too hot to smoke..

I have never been so glad to be an ex-smoker. Where I live we have a heatwave going on and it was 42 degrees today (107 Fahrenheit) 41 yesterday and 41 tomorrow. I see the poor suckers outside in the raw heat, cooking themselves because they need a nicotine hit. I actually feel sorry for them. Now, I hate the heat. I totally live up to my screen name Cranky when it's hot, I cannot imagine, these days, heading into that searing heat to smoke. I am so thankful that I am smoke free and so grateful to everyone on this site that supported me..Thank you.
Keep smiling..

Go Cranky. And the same goes for those social outcasts venturing out in the snow and ice or rain. Not much fun dragging on a cigarette without company ... It is no longer cool to be a smoker...

When we were smokers....we would just about do anything for a smoke, just to satisfy the body for its need of Nicotine...
I am pleased those days are over.

I'm feeling bad because I used to go outside for a smoke, doors & windows shut, but got complaints from inside that they could smell the smoke! I didn't believe it and the complaints just got my back up. But now, I realise it was true......it's the smell of smoking that affects me a lot now that I've quit. It actually helps me because it's so bad. And the ads on tv used to annoy me, I'd quickly change channel whenever they came on. I watch them now, they reinforce my reasons for quitting.

Yes Judes you are so right. I used to get ear bashes too whilst smoking outside my backyard with the smoke screen entering the house. My wife would say it stinks but i just ignore her. I realise now how annoying the smell is and can basically smell the smoke even if someone is 5mtres away. Since i quit 7mths back my wife has been so happy cause she does'nt smell smokes on my clothes anymore. Good Luck. Cheers.

Yep, Yep, Yep
I have walked outside twice in 48 hours, just to see that I am well vindicated in my choice and decision to quit smoking for good. Absolutely nothing worse than smoking outside in the heat, wait maybe the rain was bad too, yep and that hot wind this afternoon would make me feel so guilty - even though I would ensure I extinguished my cigarette properly, I always felt I could start a fire with the smallest spark flying off the end of the durry

So agree Cranky. One of the benefits of quitting is watching those poor souls trying to look cool. I remember being outside my office and coughed up a green ball just as a woman walked round the corner. " excuse me " she said sarcastically to which I apologised. It was a milestone for me toward quitting.
