A fond farewell to Champix

My dear Doctor had mentioned vivid dreams as a side effect of this wonder-drug and was he right!

I have conducted Beethoven’s 9th in Boston, set free all prisoners in North Korea, told a newly elected president how totally uncouth he was and as you would expect finally got engaged to Brigitte Bardot. Sorry if you did not get invited to the party, but it all happened rather sudden. I wished so you could have seen her in her long maroon dress and the little tiara on her head.

There is a print screen button on my computer, I wished there was a similar button “print dream”.

February 1st and I got no sleep that night. That I assure you is quite unlike me, I can sleep anywhere and at any time. BUT..
The same on the 2nd and 3rd. I started to panic just a little. Strange thing, I did not feel tiered at all. This was not a champix dream this was only too real.

Something had to give and I decided it was time I give up the Champix. Slowly mind you, bit by bit. A 4th night and day without sleep and last night I seemed to make up for it all, sleeping 12 hours and feeling great this morning

My “I can quit calendar” says I have not smoked for 52 days. OK I cheated a couple of times (silly me) but off course I hope not to repeat that; it tasted the way fresh camel dung smells and I now wonder how the tobacco companies can get nicotine into camel-dung. I leave that to Mr. Marlborough to figure out.

But here is my real concern, may be someone has some advice?

Will my next conducting engagement be at the local Kindy conducting “all my little ducklings”. Will I just be setting the goldfish loose or tell the Postie to stick the mail all the way in, because it gets soggy in the rain. And most importantly will Brigitte’s dress fade to a pale pink or grey or worse, will she vanish to whence she came.

Somehow my journey will continue, and while I am just a bit worried coming of this medicine, I think I have learned enough from these pages how to deal with it and to know that any transgression needs only to be temporary.

I wish you all the very best on your journey. And if you happen to run into BB. Please tell her from me I still love her!

Very entertaining Lars...yes, the champix also allows me to experience the weirdest of dreams. It's quite fascinating really. Recently Bruce Springsteen was the hero in one of my dreams, we were very close;)

I've also had dreams with my old boss as the main character, someone I was never attracted to, but apparently champix made him the man of my dreams!
