3 years &9 months smoke free!1!!!

Posted in Staying quit
schedule 10 Feb 2017

Hi Everyone,

I am 3 years and 9 months smoke free. I signed into my account tonight to find out how long I am off the smokes. I'll never smoke again. I don't have any cravings at all, smoking is absurd to me now. I do the gym four times a week and have just discovered yoga, breathing deeply.... I used Champix for 1 month and the rest cold turkey. Been looking at some of the posts I wrote, remembering how hard it was, and what I went through to quit. I couldn't go through it again. Life is better without smoking, its a prison and a mind game.

Well done to everyone who has just started and wherever you are on your quit journey, keep up the good work, it is so so worth it.

Hi Converse. Compared to you, I am a newbie at 622 days. Like you, I revisit the stories I have shared. Mind you, they are fresh in my memory. I am so glad you bothered to take the time to return to this site to report on your continued abstinence. Sometimes those who have gone a considerable distance need the reassurance of people like you. Many thanks.

Lovely to see your post Converse, I've often wondered how you were doing. Your support and encouragement were so valuable in the early days of my quit and I'll always be grateful. I must be 3 years and 7 months free now, site says 1314 days. Totally agree that smoking seems absurd, like a foreign concept and of no interest even in times of high stress. What a wonderful sense of freedom! Take care, Dot.
