Day 99!!!

well folks i've made it to day 99! I had planned to wait and post on day 100 but i'm heading into a meditation retreat today for the next 12 days and so i'm celebrating publicly today.
It certainly hasn't always been easy but- sometimes it HAS. especially recently, i'm finding it easier and easier to not smoke, to deal with stress in other ways, to be around friends that smoke and not feel triggered. when i think about that first puff it still awakens feelings of longing in me, and maybe it always will. but the more days that go by the less i want to reset the clock- now my goals are 6 months quit, a year quit, a lifetime.
thank you all so much for your support!!
My worry now is slipups due to complacency- i have read a lot of stories about people having a smoke after 100 or even 200 days- because they convince themselves they have it licked and won't get re-addicted. While some of my friends seem to be able to handle the "smoking once or twice a month" lifestyle, i know i can't. For me one puff is a backslide straight into addiction and daily smoking. So i am staying strong.
Thanks everyone for your support and stories!
see you in the new year.

Hi.
Listen to your head/brain. Do what works for you. There is really no such thing as a part time smoker. You will have lots of stress if you regress as your health and wealth will take a nose dive. Smoking does not reduce stress, it only serves to reduce cravings. Any cause of stress will still be there. Let's face it, the only time we have no stress is when we depart this life and smoking is guaranteed to hasten that process. So I suppose it can reduce stress... NOT!!! Just be aware that the percentage of success stories is small. Decide if your life is worth the effort. I do that every day and have done for the past 580 something days and I never have become complacent or let down my guard. Hang in there.
