551 days and still determined..

How did I get to 551 days smoke free? Cold turkey. Giving my craving a name, (Matgaret Thatcher). Realising I could give myself a payrise of over $200 a week. Knowing that at any time I could vent on this site. Knowing if I posted I would get a response from someone on the same stage of the journey as me. Still wonder how those who have gone past my number or are close to my number are travelling. Or are they still on the the trail? I wonder if the absence of these quitters sends out a signal that it is all too hard or if they have erred briefly. Maybe they are so free of the addiction they don't not have to rely on us... Wish I could be reassured. There are those who have been brave enough to report back after years of success only to admit they erred. That is a powerful & constant reminder that once a smoker, always a smoker and addicts beware. Is there anyone else missing the the posts of past quit buddies? Would be interesting to hear how newbies are feeling about those who are here briefly and suddenly disappear.

Lia. Thanks for staying with us and being the wise Matriarch of the forum. Als thanks for the encouragement you have given myself and others on our journey.
Since my day one on here you have cajoled me on my way. I am 100 days behind you at 453 days clear and still need to keep posting and staying close here.
It may be that there are those that are still quit but do not see the need to keep posting
However , we also know that success here is a hard journey.
I didn't think I would ever quit and at 67 finally quit by using this forum.
Thanks again
