So, I picked up a cigarette 10 days ago and I slid right back into being a smoker? Like I had never stopped? I had 6 months an 2 weeks cigarette free! This has Taught me a hard lesson, that no matter what? I do not pick up a cigarette. I thought it would make me feel better

Hi Miss Lizzy. Sorry you feel so awful and thanks for bravely sharing this. The six months were not wasted and no doubt taught you a lot. Go again as we all know you can do it this time.

Thanks Dobbin, I have felt so ashamed of myself, that's why it took me so long to post? The shame I have felt is because I know the only one I'm hurting is myself and that I went back to a self destructive habit to cope with my feelings? Which I have learnt doesn't work? What I did Learn is that I am a nicotine addiction and that I am powerless over cigarettes and that I need to always remember that! And that no matter what I do not pick Up a cigarette😊

Hi Miss Lizzy. You said it. By all means beat yourself up. Then move on and pick up where you left off. Just go back to settings and change your start date by however many days you erred. Even at 540 days, just like Dobbin, I know I could take up smoking again at the drop of a hat if I decided to. I prefer to look forward to day 541 smoke free. I just cast my mind back to the days when I was wondering if I was developing emphysema, not to mention any other damage... $1140 saved is not a bad pay rise for that amount of time either. Would be lucky to get $25 a week... Need more convincing? Do look after yourself.
