One year smokefree

Posted in Staying quit
schedule 31 Oct 2016

When I started my journey I was hopeful but was not 100% sure I would make the year milestone as I had tried so many times to quit before. It is a long journey and I was and am so determined to stay smokefree. I feel great, smell great and have treated myself to a holiday and some really nice things over the year.

I know this journey is a hard one and there are times you will crave a cig but I found the more I said no the easier it was. The cravings do ease over time and become less frequent. When a craving would hit me very early on I would get out and exercise, read the stories on this site, cleaning, etc - anything that would keep me and my hands occupied.

Thank you also to everyone on this site who have helped me along the way. I do not post often but I do stop in every now and then to read some of the posts.

I wish everyone a smokefree future and remember the saying "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again" - I did and I have and I am now one year smokefree!
