You're all amazing

I've read some amazing stories on here and I never tire of hearing about your triumphs about how long you have been smoke free and your tips and experiences, it makes me happy. There are so many inspirational people on this planet and so many people that do amazing and selfless things and I sat and thought about this over the weekend about the type of person I always wanted to be and the good I wanted to do in the world. Well, perhaps this is our contribution to a better world. Supporting people who know they are addicts and are so determined to make their lives (and those around them) better. To help each other to find part of our personalities again that we hadn't realised we'd lost and to do a small part of helping each other to reach a level of health, we otherwise may not have been able to get to. I have tried a number of times to quit smoking but it is all you amazing, inspirational and fantastic people HERE who have gently taken my arm and guided me through the maze of cravings and down days. You're brilliant, every single one of you. Your humour, your kindness and your sheer bloody mindedness! Thank you.

ease up on the ego building WW well for me anyway :) so yes I come here to keep my addict ego in check and in reality and that means sharing my story in that it may help others recover :)
so thank you :) for the nice words.
we help each other and seems to work so here I am babbling again :)
have a good day!!

Aww bless you, IC, always a pleasure never a chore :)
Take the compliment and run with it (not to fast though.....) ha ha ha ha.

Hey Whitewillow. I agree. This site has been so helpful and eased me along as well. it is so important we identify with each other and that is the key. I live in the UK and knowing that a group of people somewhere mostly in Aus understand my plight is so powerful. Good luck , well done and please keep posting.

I agree, Dobbin, I'm in the UK too so no matter what time of the day or night there was always some sensible/amusing advice.

Well said WhiteWillow. There are no patronizing suggestions posted here. As you said, the bloodymindedness of individuals always rings true and we are so fortunate to be in a position to help others we would never meet in real life, let alone share their desire to make changes in their lives. It is a two way street and our efforts when we post are rewarded by fellow quitters who help us stay on the straight and narrow path to success. I say narrow because so many take the wrong turn and get lost. Fortunately some find their way back and continue on the desired path.

its a great help to us all in our time of need as we are all going thru the same things and the good thing is we can vent when we need to as its all part of the journey we all have to take to become non smokers well done to us all

That's awesome! You are one of the people who inspired me to quit. Your encouraging words helped me looked forward and shake off that craving monkey. Thanks once again. I never thought that there are many people out there willing to help you quit!

yes I will run with it WW although if you feel the ground moving you will know why :)
good posts everyone !!
