Using NRT really helps

I have now gone one entire week without a cigarette, and am into day 8 being smoke free. Some people may not agree, but what has really helped me is using NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy). The NRT really helps me defeat cravings, also what I find extremely helpful is to change my thought process', and distract myself and do other things when feeling like or thinking about smoking.

Well done, don't think or worry about what others are using or doing, go with what ever works for you, every cig we don't smoke is a win for each and everyone of us!!!!! Keep it up and thanks for your support and encouragement. By posting we are continuing to help and support each other

Excellent job, you go with what works for you. I'm on Champix and love it. It helps me to get through each day by reducing those nasty negative thoughts and cravings. This allows me to make new habits. Keep on doing what your doing as it's working for you..

Well done, Mickjc, you've made it to over a week. We are all different and have different ways of dealing with the cravings. The common denominator though is distraction and mind set. You're doing an amazing thing by quitting and you're doing it for you! You must be feeling so much better already. Be prepared for the weird dreams and have some sugar free gum ready for when you come off the NRT. Keep posting and letting us know how you're doing, every piece of advice you have will help someone else.

what ever works that's what works and who cares what others think of how you quit sure the nrt will be history soon also.
well done and keep at it.

Whatever it takes for you to finally be free of nicotine is perfectly fine with all of us. No one size fits all here. Just a common desire for all to succeed and to share their journey and encourage others. No one here has all the answers no matter how many days smoke free they are. So many times I read something on this site and it again gives me strength to keep going. I think, why didn't I think of that? Enjoy the comraderie on this site.
