no smoking

Today is a major Milestone for myself and an incentive to others who are also on a journey of No Smoking.
Today marks 9 months or 39 weeks or 285 days of No Smoking.
Saving to date has been $4680.00 which I have been tucking away each week
$120.00 which is what I would of been spending, so the saving has been quite
substantial and it still continues to grow each week and a great incentive.
I have really suprised myself, considering I never planned on giving up, it just
happened and I just went with it Cold Turkey.
There have been soooooo many positives by not smoking any more, but also a
downside, but I can only work on 1 issue at a time.
Positives, clothes, hair, breath.. not smelling of smoke, lost my smokers cough,
now that is what im really pleased with....not having to check if I have enough
smokes for the duration I am away working and then making sure I have
enough for when I am at home..no nicotine stains on my fingers...not having to be a Leper and going outside to smoke wheather at home or socialising...and the $$$$ I am saving and not going to the taxes, smoking does not rule my life
like it had done for 46 years..
Now the downside of it all is Weight Gain...yes its reality.....the foods that I eat
is all geat stuff, not junk food but I eat more...so its down to Portion Control.I
am an active person....but 1 target at a time.
But I truely believe smoking is worse for you than putting on a few extra kilos.
I definitely won't be celebrating with just 1 smoke..as I know that the
Nicotine Demon is just waiting for me to slip up..
I must say that through out my journey, some days have been easier than others and occasionally I still get a craving but its ever so brief when I give myself a good telling off,
So guys with my own positives..stubbornness and determination I am where I am today.
If I am able to beat the addiction, I wish you all the best in beating yours.

Congratulations jenno211058, your positive attitude, sheer determination and stubbornness have been such a strength to me and I'm sure others.
Enjoy your achievements and on to the next milestone

Congratulations Jenno...I can't wait until the same time has passed since I quit. I've also been smoking for more than 40 years....I hope I can have the same positive attitude and determination as you have 😀

well done jenno211058 and thanks for the great story an inspiration for us all :)

I've been trying to quit smoking for years and the more I tried the more I smoked. I smoke a 20 pack of Dunhill per day. And now my throat and chest are dry and painful. But I still can't stop
