I'm a UK based 55 year old pommy old desperate to quit. Been trying for ages with little success then found this website in NSW. Not sure why this site makes so much sense as I must have looked at all the UK sites. Maybe the connection is many happy memories of working and living in NSW nearly 20 years ago. Anyway, I'm going use this site as my mentor and give it a real go. Keep you posted

Hey, Paul, welcome. I'm UK based too. Well done for making the decision to quit, that's the tough first step. Stay focused, positive and busy. You'll do great. I found this site purely by chance but I've been recommending it to others who are thinking about quitting. There are loads of great stories on here and so much empathy for what each person is going through. Lots of different ways to stop but the point is that you have stopped and though the fear will revisit you from time to time. Stay with this decision, it's one of the most important and courageous decisions of your life, for your life. You can do this and keep posting as many times as you need to. When you have moments, come back to this site and read through other peoples stories. We are from all walks of life and each have our own perspective and stages we're at through the stopping process.

Very grumpy this morning but just read more success stories on this site so here goes day two. Unbelievable craving this morning but calmed it down with tea and a few horrible thoughts about work. Calm now
