Day 21 (3 weeks)

Posted in Staying quit
schedule 9 Jun 2016

Hello everyone, I'm 3 weeks smoke free. I finally got round to telling my mum that I had been smoking again but have now stopped. She was very supportive but quickly changed the subject, funny how people do that. I still need to talk about it, I'm sure after a few more weeks it will wear off but I'm still really proud of myself. There are times that I've felt twitchy, in the car mainly or at certain times of the day. I'm still running (IC, you'll be glad to hear that!!!), did 3k this morning before work and though I felt tight across the chest (could have been the new sports bra) my recovery time was better. As I was warming down I realised that if I'd tried that while I was smoking I'd probably have had a coronary. How amazing are these bodies of ours and how forgiving! It's a beautiful day here in the UK, might pop to the park in my lunch break and walk past the rose bushes, gracious they smell divine. Have a great day everyone.

That's awesome WW, bravo. All that running , wow...way to go. I hate running ....but i like walking. I hear you when you say about wanting to talk about not smoking, I feel the same...sometimes I just want to shout it out at some random place where there's a crowd lol.

wow time fly's well done WW 3 weeks ad's up doesn't it.

yeah not everyone has the ability to go inside to find how they feel or they don't want to because they might find something they have to deal with.

us addicts cop a bum rap but for those of us that can come here and be real about how we feel that takes a little something special that most don't have or maybe they don't need to have as its not life and death for them.

so yes we probably scare some people with our honesty but its that honesty that has us smoke free today, so I guess the hard part is the when and where :) but we learn as we go !!

I went out did some walking today WW probably did 1.5K's or something not what I would call cardio , but I am on a mission to do it every day and build up :)

so watch out WW I might be ready for the next ex smokers Olympics :)

hope those roses were nice :)

keep up the good work !!

Wow, IC, way to go,1.5k's fantastic. Who knew I could be so persuasive.... I've created a monster, ha ha ha ha.

I never considered myself a runner and had it not been for the upcoming Race for Life, I probably still wouldn't. I just don't want to humiliate myself, good a reason as any.

Flora, call me a bad influence but I think the next time you have the urge to shout about being a non-smoker in a crowd, do it! You really make me chuckle.

Steve, I have to enjoy the British weather today, might not be sunny tomorrow. At least I have something else to talk about, other than how brilliant we all are.

Glad to hear the UK is finally having some belated summer weather. Thats one of the reasons I left the country, too cold for me lol. Well done on your 3 weeks, soon be 3 months. Keep positive and busy. I see from a few people on hear that exercise helps, I must get that gym membership back up and running. Keep off those extra pounds creeping in around my waistline!!
