Wisdom from a Movie

Posted in Staying quit
schedule 17 May 2016

I watched a movie trailer recently and they said something like " Just because there is no war, does not mean we should stop training for battle!"

I think this should apply to life where we try to learn and understand our enemy so that when we are thrown back it won't be such a massive blow like the first time it happens. Nicotine addiction is sneaky and we ought to know better and be as wise as serpents and not take things lightly when we are starting to feel better..

I don't think we have the luxury of thinking we can ever smoke again. I used to feel sad about that but now I am starting to feel happy about it. Whats wrong with never smoking again? Can we think this way? I think its possible to create a desire in us to never want to go back to the horror of hurting ourselves if we can see that taking the first puff is actually not puffing the first cigarette but hundreds of thousands of other cigarettes attached to it in a chain

yeah its pretty self abusive isn't it sucking poison in to our lungs, the scary part is it was the same mind that quit, to the one that thought it was a good idea to suck poison in to my lungs, that's the scary part.

that thing between my ears worries me sometimes that its still in control of my life :)

maybe its getting better slowly LOL

One puff leads to a continuous chain of cigarettes - I like the analogy

schedule 17 May 2016

It goes to show the beauty and madness of the human mind and the idiotic self destructive things we implant on it. I was one of those people smoking was self destructive in nature for me. The physical side of cravings is nothing compared to the psychological battle to never light up again and that I worth being smoke free, hence why I refer to my daughter a lot with my quit journey (yes I used that cliché'). I am a huge lover of analogies and this is one that I will happily use, great reference. The cost of smoking is high the choice for living is difficult for some but worth the sacrifice of living a life healthy, wealthy and present. There is a new hope of being smoke free; the force is but a small part to play it is up to us to win the battle and keep training.
