Day 1

So, this is day one. Last night I had the most awful dream about my house being haunted but I'm guessing that was my subconscious getting hot under the collar about me stopping. I've not had 4 cigarettes today, which is the usual amount each morning before 9am, though I did have an extra coffee instead. Just getting through one craving at a time , at least that's what my chum on here has said. Using deep breathing exercises each time I think I want want - seems to work so far, will keep you posted.

Welcome WhiteWillow, good luck on your journey keep up the deep breathing it certainly helps. Use whatever methods work for you, but remember we are addicts and we cannot have even one cigarette or puff. NRT's can always be used if the withdrawal of nicotine becomes too much, but it doesn't last long, the urge to smoke is definitely a bigger problem as that seems to be ongoing, I am now 65days smoke free and some days the urge is huge. So remember one day, one hour at a time and we can do it, we can become smoke free

Thanks, Storm, that's a great help. Well done for reaching 65 days, that's amazing. I know the urge to try one puff is tempting but I'm not going to this time. It's cold turkey time. I can't use the vapour pipes, it just seems to prolong the agony of the nicotine finally leaving for me. I can't use the patches as they make my arm go numb.
One hour and one day at a time, as you said. Feel proud and breath.
Thank you

you are doing great !! I had a similar dreams , its the dark side wanting us back, its a good sign means its worried your going, so keep up the great work one craving at time!!

I slept better last night than I have done for a while. Not sure if that was smoke-free or the 3 glasses of wine but I woke feeling refreshed. Still no cigarettes. Yay for me. Thanks for your support, it's really helping
