It really works but don't kid yourself... I have now accomplished the place I was striving for. I can now smell cigs a mile off and now I can honestly say I HATE the smell. There was a time I loved the smell and wondered if that urge to have one would ever leave. Well just to let you know that *I hate the smell and butts.*I now close my car vent as the cig smoke from the world around me is yuk * The urge.... well it is 95% gone, its like any addict it only takes one. Good luck everyone , stay strong , take it from me the light at the end of the tunnel is there and there is a great life waiting for you as the world opens up like when I was a child, freedom to explore without craving or stopping to interrupt the enjoyment. Freedom to do lots of things and enjoy without agitation.

MargW, thank you for sharing it is so good to hear that it is possible to beat the addiction, Wow 3 years be so proud of yourself

well sh$t I only got 1050 days to go LOL, I am guessing that the yuk to the smell has a lot to do with learning to live smoke free more than the smoking itself.
thanks for sharing and we all get there the same way don't we there are no short cuts.
well done too !!

Hi MargW. Good to hear the truth about the journey and your reminder re how easy it is to regress with just one puff. I like what lies ahead the end of the tunnel. Nearly a year for me....

"There was a time when I loved the smell and wondered if that urge to have one would ever leave"
Yeh, yesterday my wife's mum smoked in front of me and I missed smoking for a very short period of time. I can't avoid smokers because there are two of them in my apartment at the moment i.e. my wife and her mum. They are both nice people (her mum is cooking for me today) and its kinda funny that they seem to be smoking less now that I don't smoke. Probably because I smoke 4 to 5 times more cigarettes than they do and used to invite them to smoke and talk with me in the patio.
I try to stay away from cigarette smoke if I can but I guess I need to learn to not freak out if I happen to smell a lit ciggy! I am looking forward to the day that the urge to have one leaves completely.

Thanks Marg W for coming back. Awesome achievement. 3 years. Thanks for insight - it is only one drag away from going into the pit of the smokes again.
