Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to me........I can barely remember the feeling of smoking as usually when I smell people congregating on footpaths or standing outside of shopping malls it makes me sick. I cannot explain why something I loved three decades is now so repulsive and I wonder if it relates to the medication that I took.
Financially quitting has transformed my life, and enriched my family. At 40 a day I was spending $11,000 a year and now that money is being spent on debt reduction, holidays and experiences. The joy of not deciding what to go without in order to buy smokes is amazing. I am also three months ahead in most household bills - goodbye extensions.
But most of all I am overjoyed that the smoke peddlers no longer own me....control me....enslave me. I feel in control of my own destiny.......I will never smoke again.

That' such an achievement - thank you for posting. I am only a tiny, seven months (and there are still days, like today, when I feel I could crack) so it is heartening to know that the long-term rewards are great.
Thank you.
