163 days Quit

163 Days, savings $973 . Wow almost 6 months!!
I ordered my new dining room table this week. I would say I have earned it! Whoo Hoo!!
What have I been doing, since I am not really too active on this site.
I have started writing. I am taking an English class through Coursera/University of California Davis, which is free since I am only auditing the class and not taking it for college credit.
I am using the same methodology I used to quit smoking to lose weight, I believe in Aus land, this is about 10 stone. Anyway in any world it is a lot. Getting through a successful quit gave me the courage to try something else that is hard!
This week has been very hard. My daughter, children and SO are here for a visit. DD and SO both smoke. WHOA!! The first day, my cravings were really out in full force. So I drank tons of water and sucked on sugar free eucalyptus flavored cough drops. By the second day, the smell on their clothing got to me. And I noticed when they came into the house, it got on the furniture. So I am spraying Febreeze. LOL
Anyway I am good, hanging tight and doing well.
Bless you all!

Well done to you, a great achievement, and your saving rewards..
This coming Saturday will be 6 months smoke free for me and have been putting away $120.00 each week as this is how much I would have had to spend on my habit, as you can imagine I have a nice little nest egg happening, I haven't decided what my reward is as of yet, but the nest egg is a great incentive.
Great to see you were able to cope with smokers around, its a great test of your strength n willpower and determination not to sit and indulge in the habit once again.
So major hi 5s to you.

So well done - congratulations. You had your work cut out for you with visiting smokers and I admire the fact you were able to resist temptation. It is one, ongoing battle and we can be disarmed at any point. However, you know all that by six months.
I sure hope that you find a wonderful dining table to reward yourself with.
As for the weight, well it is such a disappointment to have given up something so hard as nicotine, only to find yourself looking worse (that's my experience at least) but I am sure that we will find it easier to lose weight than give up the fags.
Pat yourself on the back for a remarkable achievement.
