Yes I Can

Dear all,
tonight I m going to a wedding and this is my first going out since I stopped smoking, 15 days smoking free. Should I mention the fact that most of the people will smoke and there would be alcohol, and I really, but really don't like weddings! Wish me luck!

Hi LadyK! Years ago, drinking alcohol at Christmas time helped me fall off the wsgon when it came to my commitment to stop smoking and I'd been successful for over a year. Alcohol lowers your inhibitions and it can lead to thinking that you can smoke for just tonight or that one or two cigarettes won't mean you'll start smoking the next day. Don't risk it! You've only been smoke free for 15 days and are at the very beginning of your journey. My advice would be to drink lemon, lime and bitters rather than alcohol (other than the toast to the bride and groom, of course). Best of luck for tonight. Keep your distance from the smokers and stay relatively sober and you'll be smoke free tomorrow. Keep us up to date with the outcome.

Thank you Suszane! I m still on the road. Well, most of the people here smoke but I told myself I m strong, and you know what, I am!
