Champix

I smoked for over 20yrs and tried several times to quit, I am 47 yrs old finally realised my health was suffering ie shortness of breath & tired.Champix worked for me and haven't smoked for 3 months

I have been smoking for over 30yrs the problem is I have been on champex for 16 days now following the instructions on pack and I am still smoking I have definanlty cut down by half but am frustrated with myself I smoke about 3 to 4 a day and just can't seem to cut those ones out

I took champix for 15 days before stopping smoking. I got down to one a day and then thought if I can go with one I can go with none, so the next day I didn't have one and haven't had one since. I am on day 24 no smoking but it is still hard. You have to use willpower too

My experience was the same, Champix helped me reduce the amount I smoked down to 3 or 4 a day and the little I smoked, I didn't really enjoy so I figured, "what's the point in smoking". At first, I felt some detachment or almost grief as in "these tablets have taken away my pleasure of smoking but not the desire to smoke". This didn't last long at all.
I am now on day 83 smoke free. It hasn't been effortless but I can't say it has been hard either. After 44 years of heavy smoking, it still sits in the head and I have to continually remind me of the benefits of quitting.
This site and many others are full of stories from long term smokers who claim to have given up just like that and without any significant adjustment to the thinking patterns. I don't think those stories are entirely true but the horror stories of the difficulty with quitting are also exaggerated.
My suggestion is: Get Champix if you can take it, give it a solid go. Just be mindful you are trying to reverse a nasty habit that for so long played a huge role in life and don't expect it just to be a walk in the park. If you are realistic, you can certainly do it!
