Day 22

Im so proud that I have got to Day 22 and Im not going to say it has been a breeze because it hasn't. I dont feel as anxious as I was back at the two week milestone which I found incredibly difficult as I felt like a cat on a hot tin roof. I found it so hard to settle and was really irritable. Glad to say now those feelings have subsided and I feel heaps healthier. In fact even purchased some outdoor sports gear and Im hoping Santa brings me a nice bicycle for xmas. Even had to ask my six year daughter to make me a new STAR chart as the first one only went to 20 days. So both my star chart and my husbands are proudly on display on the front of the pantry with bigSMILEY stickers for each day as we are both soooooo happy that we are doing this. HOORRAYY. Go everyone and good luck.

Nannette, congrats. to both of you and I hope you eventually run out of stickers.

Great to hear that you and hubby are doing so well!
I have purchased a workout dvd and started walking
each day and I been researching cross trainers 'thought maybe with the money I saved from not smoking' but maybe Santa may bring it, so Nannette if we both continue to be good non smokers we may get our pressies! Funny how we take our health a lot more seriously after slowly killing ourselves with cigs. But it feels good to be thinking and acting this way.

I've been off the cigs for about 3 months now and the craving still gets me when I'm least expecting it. But.... the news is I'm getting very fat. Never been fat before in my life so it's a shock to the system. Reading your uplifting story Nannette is terrific as it's steeled my resolve to buy some "runners" (forget the cross trainers, they'll only make me angry) and get up early, before dawn preferably so I can keep my bed-hair, and start vigorous walking. Truly. Time to get off butt and really start moving. All power to you and your husband Nannette. cheers.
