Still going strong

Posted in Staying quit
schedule 13 Oct 2014

I've been smoke free for 42 days and it's not hard and not easy at the same time. Temptations are everywhere but keeping in mind that I'm doing this to be a healthier me and to live longer keeps me inspired. I am now using nicotine gum and it's helping me with cravings although they are slowly going..however they sometime creep up on me unexpectedly like today when I was doing the laundry! Keeping busy helps too! Keep up the great work everyone :)

That's great, keep going. How does the hum taste?

Keep it up BG things should start to get a little bit easier soon. Watch out for those unexpected surprise cravings, they are sneaky and will come at the most unexpected moments, and will also continue for quite a while before they get less and less.

I'm 2yrs & 3mths clean after 53 years a smoker, it's worth the battle mate.

thanks guys! Yes those sneaky cravings!! As for the gum it can be bitter so I chew other gum like extra with it. Currently it's my saving grace!

That's a good idea with chewing the gum with extra!

I must remember my reasons for quitting. Like being able to afford healthy food and enjoy it. What are your reasons for having quit. What motivated you?

Thanks again.. i made the decision in April this year that 1 September I was quitting as I wanted to compete in a walk to end women's cancers in November in support for my neice who was diagnosed with malaenoma..I kept the promise to myself and to my niece who sadly passed in July. I was

also ready to quit .. to end my relationship with the cigerette and start a new relationship with health :)
