Champix is the way to go

I started smoking when I was 18 years old (i know a little late)  My kids were always after me.  I found i was a social smoker but could always go a day here and there without one if needed.

After a very stressful seperation, i became more depressed and smoked more often.  on August 5, 2014 my 8 year old son asked me to please stop smoking.  He said that it can kill you.  It broke my heart to hear him talk like that.  I went to my doctors on August 7, 2014 and talked to him about champix.

I started Champix on August 8, 2014.  By August 11, 2013, I haven't had a smoke since.  Today marks day 7.  I will be honest, I was nervous about the pill after reading about it and all the different side effects that could happen.  I will honestly say I have had no side effects at all except the occasional headache and I find i have a slight tremble in my hands (but that could also be the withdrawl and not from the pills).  These pills have been absolutely perfect and amazing for me.  I wish all other quitters the best of luck !

I have had nothing but a terrible experience on champix & it didnt hit me fully until I stopped taking them (which apparently they can do) Yes I am smoke free but my life has been in utter turmoil & I am now on medication to try & fix the major chemical imbalance I now have.

Thanks for replying mama,

What all happened once you stopped taking them?

I am now 63 days a non-smoker and according to the thermometer have saved $1575. I got a bit ahead of it and instead of buying a TV or a Jeep - I bought a boat! The next few months smoke free will solve that problem and its so good to go fishing knowing that it is paid for by cigarette savings.

I've been on Champix all the way and like done4good2014 am one of the lucky ones - no adverse effects at all. I now often forget to take them and rarely think about cigs. When I do, I think about my boat.

It's amazing to think that everyone who smoked was poisoning their body day in and day out and yet some people unfortunately have a bad reaction to medication that helps you to stop smoking.

Sorry mama and good luck on your quitting journey.
