355 days smoke free due to Champix - BEEG THANK YOU!

355 days smoke free thanx to Champix - surreal!! Never thought I would be able to do it and 10 days short of a year, I can proudly say Im a non-smoker after 30+ yrs +- 20 per day.I had the Champix side effect book thrown at me, from nausea, nightmares, "tripping" feeling, detachment, over emotional, aggression, temper headaches, water retention, fevers - and a light case of eczema..lol - it was a rough 3 months but so very worth it. If any of you are in doubt if the journey that you are on is worth the suffering, I give you my word of honor its worth every bit of the way. Every second, minute, hour, day, week and month that you concor the nicotine addiction you win! You are truly your own biggest hero.It does get easier and easier as time goes by - I can remember that I really, really struggled in the beginning, there was times when I passed a smoker I couldve literally licked that person just to get a taste of nicotine - lololol - it was that bad.Just hang in there - do what you need to do but quit!!!

Good on you Mix, I totally agree with you. It's great to be free. You're 10 days short of a year after 30 years, I'm 10 days long over 2 years after 53 years a smoker.
The feeling of freedom is incredible, especially as it comes with a fatter wallet.

Hey Mix, that's fantastic! You should be so proud! And I bet you are feeling great! Keep on inspiring us, it really does help! Congratulations! I am on day 40 smoke free, do the occasional cravings ever really go away? I am fine day to day, but tonite I was at a party and I wanted to smoke badly, I didn't, but will that desire go away? Thanks for all your guidance and inspiration Mix!

Hi Kam/ Bill
Thank you!!! It's amazing not to smoke !
Kam apologies for the late reply, well done for not giving into the craving, it does get easier as time goes by. I still get the "arb" thought that I would like to smoke but it's just a thought, the main thing is not to react on it. I found that I didn't miss smoking but the habit of keeping my hands busy when I was out & having a couple drinks. Smoking is very much a social habit so if I may suggest of/ when you go to a party again get something to keep your hands busy, I always had a string of wooden beads that I played with. Every day you don't smoke is a day that you win! You're doing absolutely great to have made it so far...just hang in there it will get easier.
Keep it up you are doing GREAT!!!
