schedule 12 May 2014

I have been wanting to give up smoking for some time and was at my gps a few weeks back for something not relating to smoking when she asked if I was still smoking and would I like to try champix which I agreed to. Day 1-8 nothing much apart from not feeling the urge to smoke. I was only smoking about 12 a day....day 9 the nausea started.....day 12 was my quit day but I just couldn't do it. ..had a gp apt that night for my repeat prescription of champix where the locum Dr asked how I was getting on and if I had given up. I said no but have cut right down to 3 that day when he told me that he was reluctant to give me the next course as they like to see patients to have given up by then! Swear I was about to have a tantrum hut luckily he handed them over!  Day 13......had my usual morning cig....got ready for work had breakfast. ..champix.....another cig.....3 drags in I was nearly sick. That was the last time I smoked. I had 16 cigs left in my bag all day and the temptation was ridiculous. ....got home from work and snapped them all up. BUT even knowing they were in my bin was too much temptation so I got rid of the bin out of the kitchen. That ws 4 days ago. Only had one tablet yesterday and none today and I'm so proud of myself.  Have the odd craving but I have a bowl of strawberries when that happens. Going to ring my Dr's tomorrow to ask if it is ok to stop taking them but obviously if I need to to then start taking them again as I gave 28 tablets left! Bought a money box today to put my cancer stick money in. Don't give up!
