Can't believe how easy it was

Hello all.  After fifty years of smoking I quit six weeks ago and haven't looked back.A huge thank you to the people on this forum who really did inspire me to quit.I lurked on this forum for some time gaining inspiration and took the plunge. The real key for me was educating myself about smoking. And realising that the main impediment to quitting smoking was fear that life wouldn't be the same again. But life goes on and the freedom gained from not having to worry about having enough cigarettes to see me through is amazing. No more sneaking down to the service station at midnight to stock up for the morning. But what is truly unbelievable is how easy it was to quit after I made my mind up.I felt tired for two days after quitting and then everything was fine.I didn't even look for a cigarette after that and still don't.The power of the mind! My wife is so proud of me but not as much as I am of myself. And please believe me when I say that if I can quit, then anybody can. Thanks once again to the wonderful people on this forum who inspired me.I will never take another puff.

Regards

Kevin

Great news Kevin, but don't let your guard down for a while yet because those nicotine receptors are rat cunning and they don't give up easily. At 6 weeks they still have a few tricks up their sleeves.

Congratulations for making it so far from a smoker of 53 years who will be 2 years clean on 13th June.
