finding this very difficult,i dreamt last night that i forgot i quit and had a cigarette,i feel exhausted every day ,i sleep so much and dream so much that i wake up exhausted,i am taking champix ,but only half a pill in the evening thinking it will stop the dreams ,but its not ,please help i feel im not myself

Hi Cadkenzie,
firstly the obligatory pat on back, 7 days and your alive as is everyone you've come across i hope and the world is turning and a ton of toxic waste is leaving your body so bravo!
Right let me try and help, in on my final cessation after 20 years of being a junkie, in on day 36 and yes I've had some cravings and feelings of utter emotional breakdown/borderline utter devastation but.......i really want this, i really want to be healthy and restart this chapter in my life and be as amazing as I can be (please don't get nauseous).
Let me say lifes an utter b@£&@, we are all we really got, you can do this if you really want.
change your life, yourself for the better my friend. The cravings are just that, you don't need it to live.
love to you, and a bag load of luck...x

Oh God I'm feeling your pain! Awesome that you've made it this far! Remember that all of the nicotine is now out of your system, so it's only your brain telling you you miss/need it! I try to have a glass of water when I really feel like one. Maybe a bit of exercise where you get to breathe in and enjoy your smoke free lungs?
Should you maybe go back to your GP if the effects of the Champix are getting to you? Do you think you could do with out it?
Good luck!!!!

Thank you both for the positive replays . It's so nice to know I'm not the only one on this difficult journey. I know I couldn't do it without champix Sal33 . I would rather just put up with the side effects than start smoking again . I'm determined to overcome this awful addiction .well done gemg . U are a very strong person . U must be so proud of ure self

Cadkenzie I'm not painting myself as a hero but imagine what I went through after smoking for 53 years. It was not easy, but today is my 617th day free and believe me it was worth it in so many ways.
It won't be easy for you either, but one of the satisfying things is the feeling of really achieving freedom from what is one of the most addictive things available.

Cadkenzie, You are stronger than them, you are better than them, You are smarter than them. You have made 7 days or even more now i hope. Just think of other things and drink water, nice chilled water from the fridge. It helps heaps. After a class of water suck a big deep breath of air into your lungs and feel the sensation. Its great. Stay strong and you can do this. Keep in touch and all the best.

Hi Cadkenzie, Im on 229 days thanx to Champix - hang in there!! You've come this far don't give up! LOADS of water and maybe a light sleeping tablet, that's what I did in the beginning. I had a whole bunch of the side effects as well, not nice but looking back really worth it. Im back at gym full time and can breathe when I do cardio for the 1st time in over 30 yrs. It does get easier I promise. If I knew what I know today I would've stopped a long time ago
Good Luck and don't give up!!

Hang in there, read and re-read all those lovely comments people have left for you.
Each day is another day to say you have achieved. Well that is what i am hoping (considering this is day 1 for me)
:-)
