Having another ciggerette is NOT an option

I have been smoking for 20 years now, and after a few failed attempts over the years, I know this time is the real thing.
Every time I had tried to quit previously I always fell into the "I can have one here and there" or "I will only smoke when Im drinking" trap, but it finally sunk in that when I quit, thats it, not even a puff!
So I decided to give it a proper go (CT), and here I am 9 days later, smoke free. I have to admit the first 4 days were pretty easy, which worried me a little but I had just put it down to the fact that maybe this was just my time and it was a mind over matter thing..... Until the 5th day hit me! it was horrible, I couldnt think of anything else but having a cigarette, but i just kept pushing through.
I think the thing that has helped me get through the cravings the most is to tell myself that having a smoke is NOT an option, just like having to go to work, or having to do the laundry - its just NOT an option.
I really believe this quit experience is helping me become a stronger person both mentally and physically, just gotta keep going!

I could go through quits several times and they would last a few months, but then every time "just the one" brought me down. I agree with you - having a smoke is NOT an option. Keep going, you have the right mindset to succeed.
