Hi All Just popping in to say "Hi" and to let you know that Im still smoke free! Fortunately/ Unfortunately no reconciling or saving my nearly 3yr relationship. I dont blame it on Champix - I think Champix just brought the underlying emotional problems to the fore which is, when thinking clearly of it, a blessing in disguise. I lost my dear friend nicotine that has been with me through so many happy and devasting moments in my life and I must be honest it was most certainly the best decision I made to call it off!! LOLOL sorry my warped sense of humour!!I still have moments that I want to smoke but I think of what I went through to stop smoking physically and emotionally. My advise ALWAYS have water with you...when you feel the "need" arise to smoke drink water and not just a sip or 2. LOL needless to say this does your body the world of good too. I have picked up weight but Im gradually losing it by exercising and walking. If you smoked for a long time your metabolism has been affected, your whole body changes when you stop and you need to "teach" your system how to work without the influence of nicotine. Do not think in the long term when you stop smoking - take it in increments of time, it does get easier. When you have stressful situations, drink water, take a brisk walk through the office, go outside and take deep calm breaths - ride the wave - I promise it will get better. The BIG plus is that you will feel your chest clearing, your skin will change - due to detoxing from the nicotine and loads of water. It is amazing to be able to go out and not have to look for a place to smoke. My hair/ clothes always smell clean!! I spoilt myself and bought loads of nice smelling candles and every afternoon when I walk in I can smell them. Its not easy but its TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!! Just hang in there - ride the wave of needing a smoke it will hit the shore - the cravings will ease off and get better I promise.  Good Luck and just hang in there!!
