Struggling, but staying strong

I am doing a degree, finishing at the end of this semester. I always smoked heaps when I was doing an essay beacuse it would break it up for me. I'm on CHAMPIX, so it's easier quitting than it has ever been before. BUT sitting here doing an essay, it's not much fun. I'm only day 5. I know if I stick at it it will get easier.

It does get easier AP - but I waited until I finished my studying before I even thought of giving up.

I used smoking to gather my thoughts!

Stay strong...

I know I look crazy to quit while studying, but Uni doesn't stress me too much and life is full of reasons why it is not a good time to quit right now. The positive is that I am really busy.

AP, I mark assignments and now that I don't smoke I wonder how I will manage to mark the next lot that come through. After each assignment I marked I would go out and have a smoke to clear my head but I am sure I will manage just fine as like you said, there are more reasons why to quit than to stay a smoker.

Good luck with marking goonellabah, as a student, remember to be kind!!

Hi Ap, I know exactly how you feel. I too am studying and a smoke was always a good break (or so I thought). Smoking is not a good relaxation tool, I know the facts however its not that easy whilst in the middle of assignments. Keep strong.

Hi Nic succeed. Doing essays and the like I do crave a cigarette now and again, but not badly. But today I was really feeling it a bit more beacuse my son was sick and therefore his behaviour was difficult. Goes to show that there are all sorts of things that could throw you off, and that you have to stay strong regardless.

I used Champix while at uni and the side effects got in the way of my studies quite a bit. The nausea made me skip classes; the rage stopped me from studying. Be careful, and if the side effects become severe, remember that there are other quit methods out there- I'm now using electronic cigarettes (v2 cig) and they are fantastic! Good luck AP, I hope you succeed without too much drama.
