The Journey is underway!

Posted in Staying quit
schedule 30 May 2013

I'm on week four of the starter pack and have not had a cigarette for 14 days! I noticed once I started taking Champix that by day three, I just didn't like the taste anymore but I persisted smoking for another seven days before I finally stopped - mainly from habit and a weird feeling of losing something valuable (ironic). I have to say I feel great, no real cravings except when driving but it passes. I've having sugar free lollies that help as well. I sometimes have nausea but it doesn't last long - eating is definitely the key. The dreams are WILD! Sometimes scary but always entertaining - I go to bed looking forward to where my dreams will take me haha. All in all, the best thing I have ever done and I've tried patches, gum etc. So determined to ride out the hard bits because I know I'm doing the right thing for me. Feeling very proud of myself. I've been smoking for 30 years so its the biggest challenge I've faced and so far I'm winning!

well done Charleegirl. Stay strong and keep going. Champix gets easier, dreams go away and you sleep so much better. I just keep telling myself how much i LOVE not smoking and how proud I feel. Tanya x

schedule 30 May 2013

I'm not having the dreams but I think my

Determination is failing me. I'm in to my second month and have only cut down by about 75% winter could be attributing to that also because its too cold to go out sometimes! How do I get the drive back! Also does anyone feel sick on these? I find I'm not taking them properly because they make me feel faint and vomity

schedule 31 May 2013

Alisha McIntyre - You've cut down by 75%, thats brilliant! Please don't lose heart, its only the second month so keep going. Have a good breakfast like porridge or something substantial, then have your morning tablet and a big glass of water - I know I seem to feel more nauseous then. I haven't felt faint at all, maybe you need to check with your dr on that one? Hopefully its just a passing thing. Keep your chin up! :)
