Take each day at a time

Today is my 469th day without a cigarette and this is the best thing I have done for myself in my life. I started smoking when I was 16, in those days we thought it was so cool and looking back now it was probably the worse thing i ever did. Many times I thought about stopping and that was it....I just thought about it, I never really tried until 469 days ago and it was tough in the begining. Everyday since I look back and I am so proud of myself....proud that I took that step and persisted, yeah there were days when I thought, I'll just have one and I can try again next week, but i guess my guardian angel wasn't going to let me do that, she hung in there with me and saw me go from a 50 a day habit to being a breathe of fresh-air kinda girl.....and loving it.
For all of you starting out on your journey, just know that it can be done, and yes, its not easy....there are days were you'll wonder what to do with yourself and how you'll get through without one, but every day is a new one and before you realise it that day will be a week, and then a month and then a year and eachday makes you stronger and a dam side healthier...Goodluck to all of you.....YOU CAN DO IT

congratulations to you I have started champix 2 days ago I did feel a bit sick but nothing I couldn't handle, I don't feel any different at the momemt and still smoking the same I don't know if this is normal or not I really want to kick this filthy habit but I feel that if I give up I will be lost I don't know why is this a normal feeling please help

Yes Chrissy its normal, when I started on Champix I thought I'll never give up, whats this stuff suppose to do? And yes crunch day came to stop and I was still hmmmmmm is this going to work! But somehow it takes the edge off, the first week is hard and you do need to concentrate and keep your willpower in check, but I know a thousand people will tell you it does get easier at the begining Chrissy you think not possible, but it does. on champix I use to have a banana with my tablet and something on your stomach will help.
Chrissy, you think exactly like I did....I kept thinking I can't give up because I'll have nothing to do or look forward too, its bad we think like that but its true, half the time that was why I never tried but take one day at a time you can do this. Even when you get to your quit date and you think you can't stop....just try it, you can.....keep thinking, you haven't smoked all your life, like when you were younger and you didn't need them then, and you don't need them now. I started at 16 I gave up at 55yrs old, that's sad & embarrassing I waited so long but it's what we smokers do....we put off because we think we can't or will have nothing to do....but you will. Imagine how great you will feel in a couple of months when you think...hey, i'm a non-smoker, imagine how you feel when you have to fill in those questionnaires and it asks DO YOU SOMKE? and you can say no. I know this may all sound far out but its the little things you can be proud of in life, every day you've achieved something, you won't be bored.
The way your feeling Chrissy is very natural, and I guess only we smokers can relate to them....YOU CAN DO THIS
