Why I have quit.

I have have been smoke free for 5 years. I use to smoke 80 cigarettes a day. I have stayed smoke free because of financial reasons being the cost of an 80 a day habit and also health reasons. Knowing now of all the poisons in cigarettes, I am not surprised that I feel as physically and psychologically healthy as I do now after being smoke free for 5 years.
I used to think that I was a heavy smoker because I was severely depressed. I now know that I was severely depressed because I was a heavy smoker. Giving up is well worth effort. There are so many physical, psychological and financial benefits to be realised!

Well done to you, wow 80 a day i can't even imagine havng time to smoke that many. Kudos to you :)

I still believe that I smoked to contain depression, cause since I have quit, I have not been able to stop crying at inappropriate moments(like walking around the shops, at work) and have felt very depressed since I quit. I have not had a smoke, but do still feel very low. I have started having some counselling, I hope that helps, quitting has taken me right back to events before I ever started smoking (when I was 13 yrs).Day at a time, I will not smoke.
