Day 1

Day one morning was pretty hard but i got through it i just stayed busy with house work doing stuff with the kids and some exercises, at first i didn't put the patch on but after being awake for a couple of hours decided to put it on then i was off to work for 5 hrs didn'ti even think about smoking while at work being very busy is a great way not to think about it so my advice to any working person wishing to quit start at the beginning of the working week not on the weekend or a day off. after work i still didn't crave too bad for a smoke but come about 5pm really wanted one but didn't give in, then after dinner i really wanted one bad once again but decided to take the children for a walk and that helped and it is now 7:30pm 23hrs since my last smoke and feeling very proud of myself at the moment coming on to this site also helps to stop the cravings. my children have been great today and my little boy knows how hard it is for me to stop and told me he was going to stop something too, so at one point this morning i said out loud i am a non-smoker and my son came back with i am a non nose picker and told me he will stop picking his nose while i stop smoking, after work he said mum have you had a smoke and i told him no and he said i haven't picked my nose all day god love him. lets see what tomorrow will bring

Great to hear you have started on your journey....the hardest step is the first one and that step is now behind you. I am on day 143 and have saved about $1200 along the way....there have been a few slip ups but I have managed to keep on track and not let them discourage me from my goal and that is to stop giving away my hard earned money to cigarette companies and of course the big one - look after my health.
Sending you masses of good luck with your commitment and your little boy sounds like he's going to be a great inspiration.

thank you Celine56 well done to you too and yes my little boy is a great inspiration once again today as soon as i got home from work mum have you had a smoke and no i haven't and only used the patch for 1.5 hrs today as i felt a little off from it, but still really bad cravings and my husband who is trying to stop too has smokes which make it even harder being right there in front of me if i want them but i will not because i can do it, he has cut down from a pack a day to between 5-8 smokes so he is getting there too .

Day one is a day we all remember. With me it was a day when I wondered if I would succeed. Could I actually give up the
cigs I had been smoking for over 50 years.
Now 365 days later I feel confident that I have won.
I just wish I had never started all those years ago.
Wishing you all the best on your journey slaves.
You will encounter some bumps along the way but the further you go, the easier it becomes.
