1 year and 40 kilos down!

Hi all, I haven't been on for about six months but thought I would just lend some support to those struggling in their journey. I quit last news years day and other than a 3 or 4 cigs when out drinking towards the beginning, I have been smoke free for a year. I used patches for the first two weeks and then was annoyed with trying to keep then on so went on to occasional sublingual tablets. Yes it was hard and yes I thought that there was no way I was ever going to stop missing 'my little friend'. I too went through the difficult day 50-60 where you think it is under control and then the craving rears up again for a week or so.
After many attempts I can finally say this time worked and I very much think this site was a big part in that. And I have gotten to a place where I do think smoking is disgusting and can spend a whole evening drinking without wanting to go near them. After eating anything and everything for the first couple of months I started a weight loss program and have lost 40 kilos and my new 'addiction' is the gym and healthy living.
I was incredibly over weight and had been a pack a day for nearly 17 years, if I can do it I know you can, you deserve more than a life filled with poison xx

It is success stories like yours that inspires people. Well done and great to know that you've beaten the addiction. I'm into day 255 and there are still moments that are trying.

Thanks guys, you are all doing awesome and I hope you keep remembering that! SallyA I lost the 40 with weight watchers and the gym and recently I am getting on the 'no sugar and paleo eating bandwagon' though that comes with its own set of cravings! But I believe it is good for diabetics.... x
