2 weeks tomorrow

tomorrow it will be 2 weeks since i stopped and i feel great . had a little help from champix . i can even sit next to someone now without wanting one . ive been smoking since i was 12 thats over 20 yrs and this is the first time in as long as i can remember where i can walk up a hill and still being ale to breath
congratulations :) stay strong and good luck, i'm quitting either Sunday or Monday (depends when i run out) i know if i can last 1 day i can do it and you can do it :)just think only one more week and all the nicotine in your system will be gone :)

Hi Shell you left a comment on my post so thought I would reply here so you see it. Yes I do still get the odd craving but now they are more to do with associating something I do with smoking and not the actual real physical urge to smoke that I am sure you are still getting. It does get better - around the 4 week mark you stop getting the constant craving. Be warned though, when I stopped taking the Champix I did start to get the physical urge to smoke again. Not as bad as when you first stop but still not pleasant. This lasted for around 3-4 days after I stopped taking the pills. The thing that stopped me from smoking again was that I did not want to go through that first week of withdrawal ever again, and if I smoke even one now I know I would start up again and then have to quit all over again. So my best wishes to you in quitting. It does get easier every day I promise. Little hint: if you are finding that the smell of a smoker now is awful to you (it is to me) then if you find you are craving one the best thing to do is to seek out a smoker that has just finished a cigarette and just smell them - puts you right off!
