Yay 52 Days

52 Days, 52 days, 52 days. You all have to imagine the music that I'm singing this to while I dance, type and cook my dinner.
Yes folks. 52 days without a smoke. The last 5 weeks were a peice of cake. If I got a craving, I just picked up my grubby old pack, flipped open the lid and took a big long sniff. Well, it works for me.
Who wouldda thought the old chain smoking, beer chugging 51 year old Nana would ever be a cleano.
My biggest problems are, 1. having nobody to brag to. 2. smelling everyones bad body odor in the shops from 20 paces. (Curse that new sense of smell) 3. thats it!
Yay and remember folks.....
If an addict like me can do it, anybody can.
Stay positive, it really is easier than you think. There is an old saying that goes like this...If you think you can, you can. If you think you cant, you cant.
Cheers everyone. Yaaaay.

Congratulations! What an amazing effort!
I agree with you on the sense of smell (and taste!) - it's amazing what you can detect with your senses in full swing!
I too love smelling packs of smokes (empty, of course!) and find that it makes it easier!
I miss the social side of smoking - catching up with people and having a good old chain smoke!
Good on you! :)

Don't worry Chrisco - your post is worth reading 3 times! How do you cope with 3 sons smoking and not joining in "just for one - for old times sake?"

Fluffy, I have read your post of 31 August many times and it has helped me a lot. Especially how you identify and negate the false feeling of "deprivation". Thank you for this insight. After a pack a day for 40 years, your posts and others on this website are going to get me there.
