Hi

Me again, been 6mths now and finaily am not using the patches any more , but still cant stop the lollies.

Stopped the patches about 2wks ago now, but the last few days have become very depressed all I want to do is cry all the time, not sure what I am doing here any more. dont seem to be able to get myself out of the frame of mind.

Is this normal when you have stopped smoking ? or am I looking at another problem?

thanks for your replys.

Dont really think much about smoking, just feel very empty and bored.

No kids left at home, not really any friends, cut my work back as I was getting to tired so no much at all,

Cant think of a hobbie or something I would like to do, so abit of a mess at the moment and feeling sorry for myself I suppose

Hi Camken, I was exactly the same as you, crying all the time, no motivation to do anything, I cut myself off from all friends & social activity and just wanted to sleep all day. I got myself to the doctor who prescibrd me a mild anti deppresant, I am now on top of the world, socialising again and feeling great, the doc did think it was caused by quitting as there was no other reason for it. Good luck to you & go see your doctor now.

I'm now 8 months off the smokes and have felt exactly the same camken. I went to my doctor and have been on a mild anti depressant for a few months and am feeling much better. Make that appointment NOW and remember that smoking isn't going to fix anything only make it worse. Good luck and God bless.

Hey Camken.... I feel for you.. Maybe you need to go for a walk and get a bit of fresh air... enjoy the outside for a bit. I had a baby 7 months ago and have a bit of pnd. Whenever i go outside and enjoy the fresh air i feel better. I am now going to stop smoking so hopefully i am not brought down too. But fresh air is defintely the way to go makes you feel alive!!! Camken, sounds like you may have significant depression. I am no stranger to the black dog and what you describe seems like more than could be ascribed to giving up the fags. My humble advice is to suggest you seek competent medical advice. To answer your original question, I think what you are going through is worse than normal and there may be deeper issues. Help is available and there is no shame in seeking it.

Thanks everyone for your comments and thoughts.

I did go to the doctors and yes I have deep dep ression, the smokes by the sounds of things have helped me cover up something that has been building up for years.

So NOW have to try and fix this problem if I can.

Thanks again for all your help and support
