No longer an addict

I've just reached 2547 days (7 yrs) as a non smoker and I bless the day I stopped - wish it had been 20 years earlier. At today's rate, that means $120,000 not spent on my previous unhealthy addiction.. I was a 40 per day smoker and needed to stop for health and wealth reasons. With the right mind set I found it easy to stop and start stopped. It's a mind thing.

7 years is a long time yet only a fraction of our lives...and you have amassed a small fortune in savings. Health is priceless........ Congratulations.
We can do what we put our minds to. When we look at the positives, it becomes easy. There are so many positives to quitting smoking and absolutely none to keep on with the disgusting addition. We are stronger than nicotine, but it is the mind that really needs an overhaul. Too many years of believing qui4ting smoking was hard if not impossible, Afraid that we will always go through cravings without them. Yes, we have to make a stand and say :Enough", but once we break that cycle, we can control how we think and desire change and celebrate our freedom from nicotine. and those feared cravings.

Hi Pebro. Congratulations! You are obviously enjoying your freedom and your wealth. I have just reached 6 years. Always like to read posts of those paving the way for me. Good to know that there are others who have lasted the distance on their "forever quit" journey. Many try and fail. Worse still many wish they could quit but sadly pass away. You'd hope the youth of today are educated and realise smoking is a waste of time, money and ones health. If only we had known then what we know now...

Congrats pebro well done to you 🙌 it is very encouraging to hear it can be easy to stay stopped for 7 years and no doubt forever more
