Help

I recently quit smoking cigarettes around the second week in April. I quit for my family and myself but mostly cuz I was having throat issues. Felt a tightness in my throat. So after a month and a half that feeling still hasn't gone away and intensifies during dinner or when I eat. No issues when I go to sleep though. Been also spitting out a lot of brown stuff. Went to my pcp last week and he gave me a antibiotic and steroid but said everything else sounded good, lungs and breathing. Is this something that will pass with time or should I be more concerned.

Welcome Kaniservon It is very early days yet and your body is trying to get rid of all that gunk you have sitting inside of you, it is a period of clearing out of toxins which you have accumulated, I am glad you went to see a health professional, which should put your mind more at ease. Let some time pass yet before going back to your GP to see if the antibiotic works, then go back again.
Some of us experience bodily changes more than others, we are all different. In the meantime work on your Mantra NOPE (not one puff ever) and concentrate on your exercise no matter how small to begin with, keep in touch.

What you are experiencing is quite common among many and a good sign. Your body is healing, I waited for this phase and was concerned because it did not happen. If your lungs and heart are fine, then rest assured and things will likely calm down. While many people get different issues, know that you do not have to experience any. I didn't. The mind plays tricks and congers up what we expect.
