I want me

8 days now and feeling powerful. I was talking to a friend today (smoker) about my journey so far, and to my surprise he congratulated me on my decision, I didn't to preach to him but felt sorry for him, when he said he had tried before but now accepts that he will be a smoker until the end. How bloody sad! Just goes to show the slavery to nicotine has over those still smoking, and i am so glad that i have escaped its addictive clutches. I obviously shared my story with him, ie., Allan Carrs Book and can only hope he takes it on board. A Toast to the end of the insideous addiction to Nicotine! Cheers

Perhaps your friend will look us up and see how achievable quitting smoking really can be with the right mindset.

Hi Mandella. Power to you. Let's face it, before we arrived here or the decision to quit, out attitude may have been like that of you friend. Smoking to the end... What if the end comes before one is ready? What if the end involves horrific pain and agony in the dying process? What if... I can say all that because that was where I reached the crossroads nearly 5 years ago. Took the right path and determined to stay on it. Your friend's comment is a huge wake up call to us all. Hope you stay true to yourself and your friend sees the light. I don't mean the cigarette light either...

I am sure we all wonder why we didnt quit sooner and regret that it took so long to learn the truth. still it is better late than never or too late.
