As I mentioned before, I quit smoking on December 10, 2018. I did so because that's the day I had surgery and spent 9 days in the hospital.

All of my health issues can be attributed to smoking.

Today I had to have a heart stress test done, to see if I have done any damage to it.

I will get the results next month.

I feel so much better now. I only wish everyone could quit like I did. Not that I want people to be hospitalized. I just wish they could quit.

I have done a lot of harm to my body, all in the name of smoking. I am so done with it.

I am glad you turned your life around for the better. We can only hope that after opening our eyes and making this commitment to non-smoking that we will be graced with enjoying it. We can only hope others take heed and also take our success and make it their own. Anyone can quit smoking. Commit to your reasons, Believe you can and you will!

Well dome Beth. Like you I also have health problems from smoking. Diagnosed with emphysema back in September 18, and recently did a stress test with (myocardial perfusion scan) that showed I have blockages in my heart arteries. Been having angina attacks for the last month but medication seems to ease the pain. See the cardiologist tomorrow 18/03 and will probably have to an operation to fix the blockages up. I put all of my recent health problems to the 42 years of smoking. Stopped smoking for six months now but the effects are starting to show now

Wazza-I will say a prayer for you that all goes well. My surgery was for a blocked aorta in my abdomen. I only hope I don't have the same issue with my heart.

Thanks and well done Beth, hope all is going well for you. Have to go for an angiogram sometime next month, with a bit of luck they will put a stent in the blockage area and fix my angina pain once and for all. Will be on meds for life now, but the best thing is I'm still smoke free and coming up seven months now. Continue with your journey its all worth it.
